Kosair Hosts Bikefest ’97

by Jim Tretter

The Louisville Bicycle Club is proud to be affiliated with Kosair Charities to present the Kosair Charities Bikefest ’97, presented by Saturn of Louisville. This festival will be a weekend celebration of families, health and cycling held on September 6 and 7, 1997 staged in Cherokee Park. Thousands of people will enjoy this community festival to benefit the children of Kosair and creating a festival atmosphere by combining arts and crafts, food pavilion, live entertainment stage, outdoor family activities and the excitement of numerous cycling events.

Kosair Charities is the largest private source of funds for Louisville’s Kosair Children’s Hospital. It also makes grant money available for other children-related agencies. Through the Kosair Kids Program it pays the medical bills of children whose families cannot afford the cost.

Planning is underway now for what we anticipate being the largest festival of its kind in our community. More announcements will be made throughout the summer.
