Turtle Rides

by Marilyn Minnick

Turtle Rides are back in full swing! These rides are geared to the beginning riders and those who are looking for a slower, easier pace to ride with a group. Many new riders are intimidated by the fast pace of the regular club rides and after riding once, we never see them again.

Turtle Rides are changing that and bringing a new segment of active riders to the club. The apparel of choice is T-shirts instead of jerseys so everyone will fit in with the group. The pace is slower and the routes are not marked, requiring everyone to ride together. The rides cover approximately 8-12 miles and will be less hilly than regular club rides.

We are scheduling Turtle Rides at different days and times to accommodate everyone who would like to join us. Please check the LBC ride schedule for dates and locations. Bring a friend and join us for a pleasant day of cycling. If you would like to ride captain a Turtle Ride, we welcome your participation. Call Marilyn Minnick at 412-4224 for more information. Thanks to Joe Ward, A.B. Sandefur, Norm Minnick, Christine and Scott Anderson for their assistance in the Turtle Rides!
