Bike Maintenance Classes

by AB Sandefur

Attention - New bike riders or anyone considering buying a bicycle for the first time and starting to ride for pleasure or fitness. There will be a new series of bike maintenance classes starting in March. We will meet for the first time on Thursday, March 8, 2001, and continue every Thursday evening for the rest of the month.

We will cover basic bike maintenance, nutrition, tire changing, gearing and shifting, road rules and etiquette, safety, bike fit, clothing and equipment, and some basic training tips to prepare you for the upcoming riding season. We will have a brief verbal presentation each week, as well as “hands-on” demonstrations that will involve all participants.

These classes are open to all cyclists, new or experienced, and are offered free of charge. So come on out and get ready for the new touring season. Time and place will be announced in the March/April newsletter.
