Bike Handling Classes

The Monday night Bike Handling Classes are again planned for this year. We will begin on Monday, May 7, and meet every Monday night through August except for Memorial Day. Classes will be held at St. Matthews Elementary School on Browns Lane from 6:30 to 9:00 PM. Come learn riding skills every rider should know. The skills session will be followed by a short, 8- to 10-mile ride. For more information, contact A.B. Sandefur at 425-9463.

The following skills sessions have been scheduled:

May 7: Traffic Laws, Hand/Voice Signals, and Road Courtesy
May 14: Basic Bike Fit and Adjustments
May 21: Clothing and Equipment for a comfortable, trouble-free ride
May 28: Memorial Day - No Class
June 4: Tire Changing
June 11: Gearing and Shifting
June 18: Basic Bike Maintenance
June 25: Rock and Hazard Dodging
July 2: Road Hazard Jumping
July 9: Pace Line Riding
July 16: Track Stands
July 23: Bumping
July 30: Riding Tips and Techniques
Aug 6: Training and Nutrition
Aug 13: Riding with the LBC
