OKHT Angel

by Barbara Tretter

We’ve all been on a ride and have been so tired and hot and thirsty, and hoping for a nice cold glass of water, and all of a sudden, there he is, an angel on a four-wheeler!! This happened on the OKHT Saturday 70-mile ride. We had just finished the second to last long hill and stopped at the top to rest and hopefully fill our water bottles. But no one was home, so Marilyn and I (the pompom twins), shook our pompoms and cheered people up the hill. Finally, we took off and just as we came to a “T” in the road, we saw this boy sitting on a four-wheeler. We thought he was selling lemonade, but he was giving out ice, cold water, and had the sweetest smile you’ve ever seen.

Apparently he had been out most of the day, sometimes his mom sat with him, and he was just there to make our day a little better. Daniel Hobbs, of Woodlawn Rd., somewhere USA, we salute you and thank you for helping us complete the rest of the ride. If anyone has a better address for him, please call me. I would like to send him a copy of the Newsletter so he can see his name in print.
